Handmade by women in Uganda from recycled magazines -- individually hand-rolled and coated with a shiny lacquer to make them water-resistant and durable -- the beads are then fairly traded to Kenya for hand-stringing...transforming them into beautifully uncommon jewelry. All the workers are paid fair, livable wages -- about five times higher than the national average in Kenya.

December 26, 2014 - I love that these bracelets are made by and benefit women in Uganda and Kenya. the beads are pretty - I couldn't believe they were made of paper. I bought one for myself and each of my daughters. We all love them!
September 5, 2014 - I ordered one to see what they were like and really liked it. I re-ordered a bunch to use as Christmas presents for my work friends. The bracelet is pretty. The packaging is also really lovely and I like that it helps out a great cause!
