Men's 100% alpaca scarf, 'Midnight Blue'

Item # 51553

Peru's Felipe Berckholtz transforms the luxurious warmth of alpaca into the ideal scarf for those cold weather days. The ancient Inca discovered the attributes of this fiber, reserving it for the exclusive use of the aristocracy. Berckholtz prefers to use the wool from the season's first shear, termed baby alpaca and much sought after for its soft, lightweight warmth. Made in Peru.

Artisan: Felipe Berckholtz

Artisan Felipe Berckholtz Peru's Felipe Berckholtz says, 'Ever since I can remember, I've been interested in all things textile. I formally stepped into the world of natural fibers in 1998, first with cotton knits and then alpaca wool. And just like with every new beginning, mine was very tough. To create something new and interesting, I look to my beloved Peru for inspiration, our cultural diversity, colors and customs.'
