January 9, 2014 - Love, love, love it! The pattern is lovely and intricate but subtle, and the colors catch the light beautifully. It's big enough to wear as a shawl or a dupatta, but light enough to wear as a scarf.

Artisan: Madhu Agrawal

Artisan Madhu Agrawal Madhu Agrawal was born in India's Varanasi City. 'It was originally known as Banaras, and hence the silk from here is called Banarasi," she explains. 'My actual involvement with Banarasi silk began when I married my husband since his family and now, I've set up my own studio where I am able to help generate work for more weavers. It takes three people to weave one saree, and it can take 15 days to six months to complete one, depending upon the intricacy of the design.'
