Artisan: Ganesh Sharma

Artisan Ganesh Sharma India's Ganesh Sharma comes from Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. 'My encounter with this artwork occurred when I was about 17, when my cousin began to teach me,' he says. 'Painting was not a very popular craft with Vrindavan shoppers, so I decided to incorporate my creativity into utility items like bowls and vases, and design them with paintings. They have been a big hit and I've shown my work in several exhibitions across the country.'
