They said she was a terrier when you adopted her, but she sure looks a
lot like a chihuahua -- and she's stubborn as a bulldog! Knowing your
pooch's breed mix provides an understanding of her behavior, potential
health risks, and personality.
After sending in sample from an easy cheek swab, you'll receive a report that contains the following:
- Ancestry of your dog by breed
- Breed profile page describing each of the breeds detected in your dog
- A certificate showing your dog's ancestry, suitable for framing
- Kit contains DNA sample collection form and 2 DNA cheek swabs
- Identifies over 185 breeds -- more than any other test
- Prepaid envelope for mailing sample to lab
- Made in the U.S.A.

July 10, 2013 - I purchased this because I was curious regarding my loveable mutt's background, but did not want to waste money buying a test from Amazon. All of these panels are pretty expensive, and figured if I were going to shell out for something so frivolous, I at least wanted the money to go to a good cause (i.e., funding 84 bowls of food). We swabbed our Sweet Pea's cheeks, sent her sample in the mail, and got back the results: Supposedly, she is predominantly a mix of American Bulldog and Dachshund. I don't see either of those in her, as she is built similar to a whippet. I've heard that you can request a re-test and I have not done this, so perhaps they would be able to explain her results if I seek that out. Overall, I would only suggest you purchase this kit if you read a bit about sequencing and understand that this is not an exact science. It's fun, but ultimately, your money is probably better spent on something that actually has a practical application.
