April 12, 2015 - Bought this as a gift for my sister. She loved it so much, she leaves it on her desk at work. The picture does not show the true craftsmanship of this piece! The colors are vibrant-the whole piece stunning!
October 24, 2014 - The art work is exactly as shown in the picture. Very beautiful piece. Highly recommend this item. Love it!!
December 8, 2013 - I got this as a gift for a friend who spent time in Costa Rica protecting the baby sea turtles. This is exquisitely made and the picture is as it comes. She was so thrilled she cried. The artist is well WOW!
September 1, 2012 - Exquisite craftsmanship on this one of a kind beautiful piece of artwork that can also serve a practical purpose. I agree with the other reviewer that it's even more stunning than the photo shows.
August 31, 2012 - I fell in love with this box several months before I bought it. I saved my pennies and finally bought it---and I am happy I did, for it is as beautiful as the picture, more so, actually!!! It is well done, roomy enough for my many rings, and is lovely to just look at--Best purchase I've made at this site yet.

"Tuesday, October 26, 1976 was a happy day for I GustMade Sangging and his wife GustMade Endri. That is the day I was born in a remote village in Bali, the fourth of six children. My parents were farmers who could hardly invest in their children's studies.
"At school, my drawing skill was above average. Besides practicing extracurricular activities, I also took a part-time job finishing and adding color to art products after school until late afternoon.
"After graduating from secondary school, instead of going to an art school I studied at a technical school (equal to senior high). Though my brother had promised to pay for my studies, I still had to work as a laborer, for he could not give me enough money. I never liked this kind of work, therefore at night I often did some paintings; these became my private collection.
"One day, a friend of mine suggested painting on a piece of wood and the result was very nice. Since then, I have been crafting a variety of painted wood products, which sometimes I combine with fabrics."
