Handaru Baskoro celebrates the holiday season with a festive set of ornaments. They are carved from local klepu wood (leichhardt wood) and adorned with classic Javanese batik motifs including the eight-pointed rosette kawung formerly reserved for sultans. The buketan ("flower motif") features flowing lines while cecek feature dotted patterns. Made in Indonesia.

Artisan: Handaru Baskoro
Javanese Handaru Baskoro comes from a region renowned for batik artistry. He transfers traditional textile batik techniques to wood. 'I specialize in Indonesian batik ornaments, but focus more in the classic styles of Yogya and Solo. The color I use is 'sogan,' or brown, a trademark of the Yogya-Solo style.
