March 11, 2014 - I love dichroic jewelry. There is something mesmerizing as you stare into it. I would have liked the colors shown but I knew each one would be different. I had to buy a second one of these as my neighbor begged my first one away. Both of mine are shades of red and yellow. Very pretty and I love the reminder with the tree of life.
February 12, 2014 - Not happy with the color of mine....looks like the background was painted with gold. If it is iridescent, certainly not much. Tree does not even show up against this gold. Nothing like what is pictured.
December 21, 2013 - Gave this to my sister for a Christmas present. She absolutely loved it! Love the vibrant colors
September 4, 2013 - I have bought 4 of these. The last one is the prettiest yet. But you need to know none of them come even close to the coloring in the picture shown. I do like them, but I'd really like one that looks like the picture.
July 14, 2013 - I bought this for my daughter and she loved it.
In 2003 Johana Vazques was a single mom in Guadalajara struggling to support five children on her own when she heard about Dichrodreams -- a local enterprise which taught locals the art of dichroic glassmaking. Johana entered the training program and was soon making beautiful jewelry. She began earning a living wage, and her family's future changed forever.
Johana puts it this way: "Through my hard and skilled work I have been able to give food, shelter, education, and medical attention to my five kids. Two of the older ones now work in the company. It has been a world of opportunities for all of us."
Iridescent dichroic glass is made by combining crystal and metal at high heat, an art form that originated in ancient Rome. The artisans of Dichrodreams took the craft a step further by incorporating sterling silver into the mix in 1999, experimenting with new techniques. The result is an exceptional work of art. Today Dichrodreams jewelry is sold in 55 countries, making it a leader in the dichroic glass and silver jewelry industry.
