Sterling Dreamcatcher Earrings

Item # 32108
No longer available

The mystical dreamcatcher represented in sterling silver. A tiny silver dreamcatcher and three beads dangle from a post back, for an addition to your jewelry collection that is rich in tradition and style.

Developed by the Ojibwa culture, the dreamcatcher, or bawaajige nagwaagan, is a charm that is hung above a bed to protect children from nightmares. Traditionally made of willow and sinew, they are meant to dry out and collapse by the time a child reaches the age of adulthood. This "dream snare" is a hoop, on which is woven a loose net or web, and then decorated with sacred items such as feathers and beads.

Earrings measure approximately 1.5" L (3.8 cm). Made in Peru.
