Take a stand for safe drinking water — join our national campaign to eliminate lead pipes and protect our health. Your action today shapes a lead-free tomorrow.
Every day, millions of Americans are exposed to drinking water delivered through lead pipes. This silent hazard poses severe health risks, particularly to our children and vulnerable populations. The time for change is now.
The Hidden Danger in Our Homes
Lead pipes, a remnant of outdated infrastructure, are more than just a plumbing issue. They are a public health crisis. Lead exposure from drinking water can lead to developmental delays in children1, increased risk of hypertension and kidney dysfunction in adults2, and even potential risks of cancer3. No level of lead exposure is safe, and it's our responsibility to take action.
A National Effort, A Personal Responsibility
The federal government has embarked on an ambitious plan to replace lead pipes across the United States4. However, this is a massive undertaking that requires the support and involvement of every one of us. By staying informed, educating others, advocating for funding, and participating in community efforts, we can each play a crucial role in accelerating this initiative.
Every Action Counts
Your engagement can drive significant change. By raising awareness, advocating for change, and supporting community efforts, you contribute to a healthier, safer future for all Americans.
A Commitment to Change
Today, you have the opportunity to be part of a historic movement. By signing the pledge, you commit to supporting the replacement of lead pipes and ensuring safe drinking water for our communities. This pledge is more than a signature; it's a declaration of your support for a vital cause.
Your voice, your actions, and your commitment can make a difference. Sign the pledge to support the safe removal and replacement of lead pipes. Together, let's ensure a healthier, lead-free future for all.

The Pledge:
I understand that lead pipes pose significant health risks, including developmental delays in children, increased blood pressure and kidney dysfunction in adults, and potential risks of cancer. Lead, even at low levels, is a potent neurotoxin that can cause long-term harm.
To support the federal government's efforts in replacing lead pipes and ensuring clean, safe drinking water for all, I pledge to take the following actions:
- Stay Informed: Regularly update myself on the progress of lead pipe replacement efforts in my community and nationally.
- Educate Others: Share information about the dangers of lead pipes and the importance of this initiative with friends, family, and neighbors.
- Advocate for Funding: Support legislation and policies that allocate funds for lead pipe replacement at local, state, and federal levels.
- Participate in Community Meetings: Attend town hall and community meetings to voice support for lead pipe replacement and learn about local initiatives.
- Volunteer: Offer my time and skills to local organizations working on lead pipe replacement and water safety projects.
- Promote Safe Water Practices: Encourage the use of water filters and other safety measures in areas still serviced by lead pipes.
- Support Affected Communities: Assist communities disproportionately affected by lead pipes, especially low-income and minority neighborhoods.
- Engage with Local Officials: Communicate with local representatives and water utilities to stay informed about the progress and challenges in lead pipe replacement.
- Conserve Water: Help reduce water waste, thereby easing the burden on water infrastructure during the transition period.
- Be a Conscientious Consumer: Choose products and services from companies that support environmental health and water safety initiatives.
By committing to these actions, I join a collective effort to ensure a happier, healthier future for all, free from the dangers of lead-contaminated water. Together, we can make a significant impact in securing the wellbeing of our communities and future generations.
