Yachana Jungle Chocolate
From the rainforest of Ecuador to your home -- prepare yourself for a unique chocolate experience! This is not processed chocolate with added ingredients! The cocoa beans are sun-dried, slow-roasted, coarsely cracked, and sweetened with a touch of fresh sugarcane juice.
- Brazil Nuts and Coffee: Plain chocolate mixed with bits of Brazil nuts, and flavored with the essence of coffee.
Unlike processed chocolate that contains milk, butter, sugar, vanilla and other ingredients, Yachana Jungle Chocolate will not melt and has a long shelf-life. Just a few morsels in the palm of your hand are enough to satisfy the cravings of most chocolate lovers. Sprinkle them onto ice cream or yogurt, add them to baked goods, or just eat out of hand!
Yachana Gourmet is an ecologically conscious, socially progressive company designed to purchase agricultural commodities grown in the rain forest, add value to these products in the jungle, and open international markets. Yachana Gourmet pays farmers 200% to 300% above the local market price for their cacao. The Ecuadorian Government says that this project is a truly viable alternative in Ecuador to industries involved in the growing and trafficking of cocaine. Not only will you and your chocolate-loving friends love this new Jungle Chocolate's great taste, but you'll be making a positive difference in Ecuador! Fair Trade Federation certified.

December 15, 2013 - Was a bit startled by the small (nay...TINY) box, but since I guess I didn't realize how much 2 oz was, it's my fault. I'll just use them for stocking stuffers. And I like letting folks know they are helping preserve the rainforest.
May 2, 2013 - Delicious and full-flavored. If you love chocolate and coffee you will love this unique treat!
