Goal: 30,000 Progress: 9,634
Sponsored by: U.S. Fund for UNICEF

Immunization is one of the most successful and cost-effective public health interventions. In recent years, vaccinations have prevented an estimated 2 to 3 million deaths per year along with countless episodes of illness and disability.

But some 22.4 million children born each year — nearly 1 out of every 5 children — are still not immunized, exposing them to disabilities or premature death.

UNICEF works with governments, partners and communities to increase the demand for immunization and the supply of lifesaving vaccines.

Stand with UNICEF to save children's lives and provide low-cost, effective vaccinations to every child.

I pledge to join UNICEF's efforts to ensure children around the world have access to low-cost, basic vaccinations.

UNICEF, the world's largest buyer of vaccines, provides immunizations for more than one third of the world's children. Since 1980, UNICEF has helped quadruple global immunization rates for children, saving countless lives. Today, infant and childhood vaccination saves up to 3 million children's lives a year.

I support UNICEF's commitment to vaccinating every single child against preventable childhood diseases.

Jan 14, 2015 keila diaz UNICEFS attempt for vaccinations is something good because its providing to children, its providing what most people don't have. For the good of living beings, preventing deaths for the future generation. This is something done from the heart.

Jan 13, 2015 Fiona McWilliam I have a friend who doesn't believe in vaccinations. Every time the topic comes up I tell him that my aunt died of diptheria so I believe in vaccination. Only her eldest brother could remember her. How sad!

Jan 12, 2015 Charlotte Van Hagen I beg you to please vaccinate your children. All vaccinations are important but I remember the horror of polio, through my cousin, before the vaccine. Please allow your child to be free of all the diseases that vaccinations cover!
