Veterans Village opens Veterans Winter Shelter

For the fifteenth consecutive year, Veterans Village of San Diego opened the Veterans Winter Shelter in December. As always, the facility opened to a long line of homeless veterans waiting for a hot meal. The tent will stay up through April 6, 2012.

VVSD receives funding to give veterans two meals a day but relies on donations to provide a third hot meal per day. This year, they report that donations are down and help is needed to continue providing that extra meal.

GreaterGood.org supports VVSD and their programs to feed the homeless through contributions from The Veterans Site and Gifts That Give More [tm].
