Rainwater harvesting helps Tanzanian schoolchildren

Rainwater systemDonations from GreaterGood.org paid for two rainwater harvesting systems in Tanzania in 2010. A 60,000-liter system was installed at the Tengeru primary school, which serves 258 students and a community of 4,000 people.

A larger 130,000-liter system was given to the Mbuguni primary school. This school has approximately 1,300 students.

Both systems were installed by Save the Rain. The organization works with water-starved communities to harvest rain as a sustainable water supply that will not only help today’s children, but also generations to come.
