More than 1,100 lights distributed to African students

In 2010, GreaterGood.org’s support of Lights For Life International enabled the group to distribute 1,100 lights and four POWERcycles to the school in Gihembe Refugee camp.

"Almost 10,000 children have benefited from using these lights both in the classrooms and in the library," said Jacqueline Hui, director of Lights For Life International.

The lights supplied by LFL are simple, safe and sustainable, replacing the dangerous but commonly used alternative kerosene. The pedal POWERCycle Generator ensures that power is always available and up to five LED lights can be charged at once with just twenty minutes of pedaling. Because it is easy to operate, even children can operate the POWERCycle Generator safely.
