Hand/Eye grants provide employment for Haitian women

The HAND/EYE FUND Artisan Grants program is focused on providing opportunities for Haitian artisans to rebuild their lives following the devastating impact of the 2010 earthquake.

One of the first groups to receive a HAND/EYE grants was PeaceQuilts in August 2010. In less than a year, they have grown from employing seven women to nearly 100, according to Keith Recker, Executive Director of HAND/EYE.

"In addition, quilt sales are up 25% over the previous six months," he added in a recent letter. provides funding for HAND/EYE through the Gifts That Give More [tm] program and other programs at The Hunger Site.
