GreaterGood donations help children working in Cambodia dump

CCFBetween July 2009 and June 2010, GreaterGood.org’s contributions to the Cambodian Children’s Fund helped the organization provide 6,171 kilos of rice to 700 children and their families.

“Cambodian Children’s Fund is pleased to have the continued support of GreaterGood.org,” wrote Amy Nelson, Director of Development and US Operations. “We look forward to another year of this successful partnership.”

Cambodian Children's Fund (CCF) is a nonprofit organization working to improve the lives of Phnom Penh's most impoverished children and families. Providing hundreds of children with nutrition, housing, healthcare, and vocational training, CCF gives them the tools to break the cycle of poverty.

An estimated 45% of Cambodia's children suffer from malnutrition, but for children working in the garbage dump near Phnom Penh, the rate is closer to 100%. CCF's subsidized rice distribution plan has become the lynchpin of the community food assistance program there.
